They are a bit untidy now some, need a quick file, these grow fast, so I guess ithat I am lucky, however i work in the areas of art, and enjoy ceramic work and gardening, abhor wearing rubber,gloves when doing any of these things, in the case of art and ceramics, it just isn’t feasible, and in the instance of gardening, its so much harder to get a grip on the weeds.

Also half the time I can’t find them. (The gloves that is)

I decided to clean them up last night, Maincured them the French way, using white on the tips after shaping, and then applied soft pink over the whole nail.

They looked brilliant, by the end of the day, probably not so great. The other option is acrylic or gel nails.

I hope you are well! Today I talk about my favorite new product of heart, and when I say blow of heart I mean it!

This is a new kit, designed and produced by the very attractive brand Orly. An intelligent product, practical, and efficient: everything we need finally! For myself I chose to tell you about the version sober, class and rock n ‘roll: I named The original french manicure that meets the sweet name of Cosmic FX. It promises to pretty things right?

The kit contains three vials: A Base / topcoat, black varnish and lacquer Liquid Vinyl multicolor metallic Space Cadet. Cute little bottles with a fan brush lanky particularly useful for making things clean and tidy. But that’s not all! In this little magic box you can also find two boards for french guides. DO

1. Protect your nails from getting polish stains by applying a thin layer of clear base coat. This will also help your polish last longer and help you avoid a streaky finish.

  • Always use a base coat and top coat. It’s sometimes tempting to skip them if you’re in a hurry. But remember, it’s not worth it if your polish chips faster. The base coat acts as a foundation for your manicure, and the top coat is a protectant for your polish.
  • Let each coat dry for a couple of minutes before applying another. This allows the polish to set so the next layer adheres better.
  • Wear gloves whenever you do a job in water or dirt: dishes, cleaning, gardening.
  • Try not to use your nails as tools. Concentrate on using the pads of your fingers and not the tips of your fingers when you reach, grab, hold and type.

Brittle Nails
Brittle nails can be caused by sun exposure, a poor diet or the prolonged use of commercial nail hardeners. Avoid the use of hardeners containing formaldehyde, which has a drying effect on nails, and try using a waterproof coating that seals moisture in the nail and repels water and dirt. Believe it or not, a waxy lip balm can be quite effective at softening nails.

Hangnails
Picking and biting your nails, exposure to detergents and chemicals or general nail neglect are all causes of hangnails. Use a sharp cuticle nipper to remove existing hangnails. (A dull, cheap cuticle nipper will not allow you to get at the hangnails and may create more damage.) To help prevent hangnails altogether, use massage cuticle oil, lotion or cream at least once a day. If your cuticles are a painful mess, apply moisturizer twice daily. Continue reading »
