I think I have found my perfect summer nail polish! Glazed chestnuts is a light sandy copper shade with lots of gold shimmer. When I put a light coat on, it pretty much blends in with the tan on the rest of my hands except for that gorgeous golden shimmer. It is such a perfect summer beachy shade that will look great with a tan on anyone’s hands or feet.
L’Oreal Shock Proof nailpolish calls itself “extreme wear nail colour” on the bottle. With a strong claim like this I expected a full week without chipping, which was not the case. The first time I used this polish my nails were a bit past my fingertips, and the polish had chipped off the tips of my nails in a few days. I often have this problem, nail polish just doesn’t seem to like the tips of my nails. Right before my recent beach trip I cut my nails very short and applied the polish again- what a difference! Shock Proof lasted through 4 days at a the beach without a single chip! A few days after I got home there was only very minor chippage.
In my experience, this product lives up to it’s long wearing claim only if you keep your nails short. However the color is so pretty and fitting for summer that I suggest you buy a bottle even if you like your nails long. 4 stars for a product that could have lasted just a little bit longer.
